Target deal!

Made a quick trip to Target last night for a few things, and ended up getting a great deal on Kashi products and Wishbone salad dressing! The total spent on these items was $4.42, saved $17.50 with gift card! The salad dressings were $0.38 each and the Kashi worked out to about $0.74 each. We needed a couple of hand towels, and I was able to find some on clearance for $1.12 each, regular price $4.99 each.
We're getting fairly well stocked as far as cereal goes!

Papa Johns

Well, this technically probably doesn't count as "saving money", but it's a good deal, so I'm posting it anyways! After a crazy busy day that involved my one-month-old getting a shot, I got home at 5:30, and didn't feel like cooking. So, when my husband came home we decided to order pizza. I had seen a commercial for Papa Johns the other day, and wanted to try their cinnapie. Turns out if you buy a medium two-topping pizza for $11.99, the cinnapie is free, which is not a bad deal to start. But when we went to order online, we found that since we were signing up for the first time, we also got a medium cheese pizza for free! So, that meant that we got 3 pizzas for $11.99! Not bad if you ask me, as it will feed us multiple meals. We were able to use a rebate check that I found in my shred pile last week to pay for it as well, so it didn't even count towards our monthly dining out budget. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me!

Meal Plan

I have always found it extremely helpful to make up a meal plan before I do my grocery shopping for the week. I find that it cuts down on unnecessary trips to the store, and enables me to either cook with what I have on hand or what happens to be on sale. Here's our menu for this week:

Monday
Mini-Meatloaves and Mac & Cheese

Tuesday
Grilled Cheese Sandwiches (mom was at a party, dad cooked!)

Wednesday
Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Corn & Cranberries (turkey breast in on sale at Meijer for $1.29/lb)

Thursday
Enchilladas (using leftover turkey from Wednesday)

Friday
Tuna Helper

Saturday
Out (church)

Hoping to make it to Meijer today to stock up on brown n serve sausage that is on sale 10/$10 and english muffins that are also 10/$10. This sale ends today!!

Here we go!

Hey all! Here is my first official post. Got some fairly decent savings at Target today that I thought I'd pass along.

Kellogg's Poptarts Brown Sugar Cinnamon 8 ct
On sale for $1.46, used $1/1 target coupon here and $0.55 off from RP 9-13 = $0.09 overage!

Cocoa Puffs Cereal
$2.54, used $1/2 target coupon here and $1/1 here (signup or login) = $1.04

Frosted Strawberry Cheerios
$2.39, partnered with target coupon above and $0.75/1 here = $1.14

Archer Farms Sausage
On sale for $2.59/4. Bought two packages to stock up for next week! Nitrate free and in my opinion, the best sausage out there!

Campbells Mushroom Soup
$1.02 x2, used coupon here = $1.04

Bananas
On sale for $0.50/lb, bought 2.38lb = $1.19

Picked up a few other things, but these are the most interesting and the best priced!

Got a bit of grief when I tried to use $1 off any item $1 or more at the Target Cafe; a coupon that printed on my register receipt during a recent trip. Tried to buy a bottled drink for $1.02, but the cashier informed me that it is only good for items they sell behind the counter. Odd, as I used the same coupon at a different Target last week to get a vitamin water for $0.02. They do have a sale right now where you can get a popcorn and a medium drink for $1, so I guess I'll be taking my daughter there sometime this week for a treat!

Happy shopping!
